Detailed Itinerary

DAY 1 / Hotel Bougainvillea

After being picked up by your personal driver at the airport you will be taken directly to Hotel Bougainvillea. At the hotel you will also receive your welcome package which will include maps and itineraries The hotel has one of the country´s most impressive gardens and is situated on a large property that really makes you feel like you’ve escaped to paradise.

DAY 2 / Hotel Bougainvillea

Your eyes will witness some of Costa Rica´s most precious sites on your first full day. You will see the active Poas volcano along with the five magestic waterfalls of La Paz. The day starts with a tour of one of the traditional coffee fields in Costa Rica.

DAY 3 / Tree house hotel

On the way to Arenal volcano you will stop and stay at the tree house hotel. Each room is in fact a tree house and allows you to live inside the rainforest like no other hotel around.

DAY 4 / Lomas del Volcan

Lomas del Volcan is situated a few kms away from any road giving you a personal experience with Arenal volcano. Each cabin stands on it own and provides the perfect view of the volcano.

DAY 5 / Lomas del Volcan

The Cano Negro reserve is one of the top wildlife reserves in all of Costa Rica and is responsible for protecting many endangered species such as cougars, jaguars, tapirs and ocelots, peccary and several species of monkeys. Prepare to be amazed!

DAY 6 / Si Como No

Si Como No is a hotel that truly places nature first. You will not find any t.v´s or electronics here as each guest is meant to truly experience the magnificent nature that surrounds them.

DAY 7 / Si Como No

Manual Antonio National park is one of the most visited parks in the country because of its amazing hiking trails and the numerous species that call it home.

DAY 8 / La Cusinga Lodge

La Cusinga is truly an Eco traveler´s paradise. Located on 250 hectares of protected land, this Eco hotel has endless hiking trails along with its private beach and natural swimming pool. If you are lucky you can even spot whales in the Ocean as it is the mating ground of the humpback whale.

DAY 9 / La Cusinga Lodge

Expect to be awoken by howler monkeys as dozens call the protected area at La Cusinga Lodge home. Get up nice and early to take advantage of all there is to do and see. Make sure to walk down to the amazing private beach.

DAY 10 / La Condesa

We will take you back to the central valley and to La Condesa hotel where you can rest one night before your trip to the east coast of Costa Rica.

DAY 11 / Mawamba Lodge

Today you will embark on a four day journey to Tortuguero. All meals will be included during these days. We will pick you up at your hotel and take you to the Atlantic Coast where you will board a boat and be taken to Mawamba Lodge. Your first tour will be to the town of Tortuguero. There will be an optional night tour to see the turtles. Alcoholic drinks, soda and bottled water are not included during your stay at Tortuguero.

DAY 12 / Mawamba Lodge

You will go on a 5:30am morning tour to the Torguero Canels. After breakfast you will go on your second tour near the national park where you will do some hiking. After lunch you will embark on a boat tour through the Canals of the national park.

DAY 13 / Mawamba Lodge

Today is a free day for you to enjoy the hotel facilities including the pool area, nature trails, butterfly garden and frog farm. Extra costs apply if you wish to go kayaking or fishing in the area.

DAY 14 / La Condesa

You will depart your lodge at 11am to start your journey back to the central valley by means of water and land transportation. Your last night is completely open in order for you to relax and get ready for your trip home.

DAY 15 / SJO Airport

We will pick you up at your hotel three and a half hours prior to your departure so there is plenty of time for you to catch your flight home. Please be advised that never wanting to leave Costa Rica is a completely normal sensation that many of our clients experience. Our drivers will insist nonetheless that you board the tour van to make your flight.
